Zambia Hope News update --
December 2009
In the fall of 2009, Hope Farm planned a major planting
of soy beans, which are a profitable crop in Zambia.
Following a request from Adamson and Anne Musonda, directors
of Zambia Hope International, Hope Mountain Foundation
sent $4,000 for this purpose.
For that Christmas, as it was last year, the seniors
living at Turkey Creek Forest in Gainesville, Florida,
got together to write Christmas cards to all the children
under the care of Zambia Hope International, and sent
them by FedEx to Lusaka.
Also as in the last two years, Hope Mountain sent funds
to pay for a Christmas dinner for all the kids. This
year $3,000 was sent so that the kids could also have
at least one or two simple gifts each.
We are still waiting to get a 20-ft container to send
the hundreds of computers and peripherals, as well as
school supplies, children's clothes and stuffed animals
that have been collected in Frederick Country Maryland,
and are sitting at the Seniors Resource Center in Frederick,
ready to be shipped out. It seems the containers for
a long trip to Zambia are not easy to find!
